Pivot Stories: How Sean Gannet of SFG Productions is Creating Captivating Live Events During COVID-19

At Rose Marketing Solutions, we are highlighting and celebrating companies that have recently adjusted their business models to provide unique services for their guests and customers during the pandemic and economic crisis.

SFG is a live event and video production company founded more than a decade ago. Prior to starting SFG, Sean Gannet was a filmmaker, directing films and even helping produce Hollywood movies. One of his colleagues from a short film introduced him to TED Conferences where he was hired to film 30 TED Talks on a ship in the Galapagos islands, which would be broadcast across the globe. Through this experience, he developed the idea for his new company which would focus on producing live events.

Brainstorming solutions

It was during a February 2020 prep meeting for a June 2020 event that Sean had the foresight to realize the world was about to change. All events and scheduled conferences began cancelling. In response, Sean pulled together his team to brainstorm how to translate the live event experience into a successful virtual experience.

  • What is it that makes a live event special?
  • Can we create a deeper level of service in a virtual space?
  • How can we make an immersive live event with our event partners?

SFG Productions began leaning heavily on the broadcast leg of their company to support their clients and upcoming conferences, to quickly rebuild live conferences into virtual events. Sean and his team researched and tested the best technology available to be able to share their expertise with their clients.

Becoming experts

SFG Productions became experts in new platforms to deliver an excellent product for their clients. SFG delivers on the technology so that the client’s focus can remain on content creation and sharing their story. Organizations are able to capture more leads and analytics through virtual events, move breakouts and networking online, and are able to make their content available for more people.

SFG Productions understands that organizations want to put their best foot forward with these live events, even online. Your virtual events should be approached with the same excellence and expertise as an in-person, live event. Watch our interview with Sean to learn why it is essential to hire the right team to help you execute your event.

Sharing best practices

Virtual conferencing is a reality many companies and organizations will face going forward. SFG is open to sharing their thoughts with others about their journey through this process. Their team conducts introductory calls and free consultations to share options and best practices that are available to organizations for their virtual events.

Through this major disruption, SFG Productions continues to deliver expertise in live event production and specializes in transitioning in-person events to effective, live virtual events.
